Terms and Conditions
The “Sounds of the Land of Fire” International Music Competition is organised by Aserbaidschanischer Akademischer Verein (AAV), an association established under Austrian law and listed in the Central Register of Associations of the Austrian Federal Ministry of the Interior (registration number ZVR 759048938).
The competition will take place on the 21st-22nd of May, 2022 in Vienna, Austria.
Registration deadline: 26.03.2022 (Central European Time CET 23:59)
Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years of age, by January 2022 (they must be born after 31 December 1987 and before 1 January 2004).
Participants can apply at the official website of the competition (http://www.lofmc.com), by filling out the application form and uploading all requested documents, including the proof of payment of the registration fee.
The registration fee is a one-time fee amounting to 30 EUR or 35 EUR (depending on the form of payment) which has to be paid in order to submit the application form.
The registration fee is non-refundable.
By submitting the application form, the applicant accepts all rules and regulations of the competition.
All complete applications (First Round “Video Selection”) will be screened by the Jury Members.
Applicants may not be rejected on any gender, ideological, linguistic, political, religious, or racial grounds.
The First Round (Video Selection) results will be announced on April 15th, 2022.
The Second Round (Live Round) of the competition will be performed live for the jury panel, and will be open to public listening in Vienna, Austria.
By entering the contest, the participant accepts without reservation that the organizers reserve the right to use photos or videos of the contestant for purposes related to the contest, advertising, or other purposes generally.
The participants will be required to cooperate in all film, photo sessions and/or interviews planned by the Competition.
Award winners cannot transfer their rewards and rights to others. The prize winners have no claim to additional compensation.
Participation is understood at the participant’s own cost and risk. All participants are responsible for their own accommodation, transportation, and all other related expenses in regard to the competition.
The competition organiser cannot not assist Second Round (Live Round in Vienna, Austria) participants in obtaining Austrian (Schengen) visas. At the interested party’s request the organiser will provide a note confirming his/her acceptance into the Live Round in Vienna, Austria.
The Jury panel may need to cut off performances which run overtime to maintain the allowed time limit for other contestants.
Jury members who are related (up to the 3rd degree) or teachers of a contestant will not be allowed to vote for the participant.
Decisions made regarding both the administration of the selection process (based on applications and video recordings) and the Jury panel’s grading are final and irrevocable. No appeals are permitted.
The organiser of the competition is authorised to photograph, film and make sound recordings and/or digital/electronic recordings at all concerts or events within the period of the competition and to use these recordings for publicity purposes. In particular the organiser reserves the right to authorize radio and TV stations to record and broadcast (e.g. via radio and television, including on-line) all events of the competition. No claims for reimbursement for participants may arise from this.
The competition organizer reserves the right to release and distribute or permit the distribution on its own or through third parties of contributions to the competition in sound form, on analogue and/or digital sound or data media in any format or process (including as digital downloads via online distributors), either commercially or non-commercially.
The jury, staff and partners of the Competition cannot be held liable for any accidents indicated below occurring during the Competition:
A) Damage to or loss of participants’ belongings;
B) Physical, material or moral injury caused or sustained by participants.In order to ensure the smooth running of the Competition, the competition’s rules’ may be added, removed and/or changed even after they have been published.
Should problems arise regarding points not covered by the rules and regulations, the contestants will be required to follow the decisions and rulings made by the organizer.
Contestants may not appeal against the above decisions.
The contestant’s submission of his/her competition application will be tantamount to the candidate’s acceptance of these Rules. The notification of the acceptance of the candidate’s application will mean that an agreement has been concluded between the Competition and the candidate concerning all matters provided for in these Rules.
